It's very simple: every card has a single value, its size. Every turn, all cards are merged into a single amalgam card. The bigger this card gets, the more damage it does.

Getting big cards is not going to be easy. And also the game gets harder as you progress through levels, so it's very important to find the right strategy! Cardflation in its current state has many cards with unique effects that can be chained together to get pretty crazy results (especially in the late game!)
